Conceived as the ultimate family world cruiser. Design priorities included a
requirement for four generous guest cabins, a gym and a full width master suite and a large jacuzzi. In a yacht of this size, being the largest sloop in the world at the time, ease of sailing, with a minimal crew, was an absolute necessity, as well as safety for all on board. She has exceeded everyone's most enthusiastic dreams. The very strict rules for Lloyds and the yet to be adopted, at the time, MCA rules and regulations, were embraced to achieve the highest structural and safety standards. Performance under sail comes from a generous rig of carbon fibre, designed by Southern Spars with a fully battened in boom furling mainsail and three infinitely versatile carbon spectra headsails, all on dedicated custom Reckman hydraulic furlers with custom built carbon fiber foils.
Draft is minimized by the daggerboard which when up gives a draft of
only 12'/3.66m and when down a sailing draft of 24'/7.3m! Glade Johnson's styling and interior have created a very large yacht for her length. She
has generous living areas inside and especially on deck and on the flybridge. No compromises were made on any level, from the finest heavy duty redundant machinery to the finest electronics and audio/visual equipment, right on down to custom commissioned china and hand carved interior.
This beautiful yacht is now available for a new owner and new adventures. The new owner will have an infinitely safe, easily managed performance (sail and power) yacht with the space and accommodations of a much, much larger vessel. |
