Designed by the legendary Glade Johnson with naval architecture by Guido Perla, she was painstakingly built by Regan Marina (also known as Workboats Northwest) who were renowned for building tough aluminum vessels for the brutal Alaskan fishing industry. With correct and proper engineering, big ship systems, and excellent quality of construction, she has proven herself cruising from Alaska to Panama to New England. Without a doubt she is a yacht of substance. This rugged yet precise vessel is capable of real offshore use. In 1991 she was featured in The Super Yachts (Volume 5) and was also a recipient of The Super Yachts Society Design Award for the best motor yachts over 23 meters. In 2007, she underwent an extensive refit at Knight & Carvers facility in San Diego. The work completed included a full Sterling paint job, as well as, several engineering upgrades. At 10 knots she has a 3000-mile range, and at 12 knots her range is 2500 miles. The vessel is actively cruising and will continue to be loved and maintained in excellent condition until sold. In Spring 2008, both main engines and generators underwent a complete major overhaul. |

Nel 1945, in Danimarca, i cantieri Nakskov Shipyard concepirono la Buena Nina: un gigante d'acciaio, sviluppato in 35 metri di lunghezza e 7 di larghezza. Un rompighiaccio vigoroso, che con la propria autonomia di 4000 miglie marine, fu in grado di effettuare, senza sosta, molteplici traversate atlantiche.
Alla vigilia della seconda Guerra Mondiale, l'imponenza e la validitΰ dell'orgoglio cantieristico danese affascinarono Adolf Hitler, a tal punto che volle far costruire la Buena Nina. Mancavano solo pochi mesi al varo, quando la guerra finμ.
La nave non ebbe la possibilitΰ di raggiungere la Germania con il suo nuovo armatore. Restando in Danimarca, fu impiegata dalle forze armate in azzardate operazioni di sminamento dei mari del nord, con un dispositivo magnetico "ancora oggi funzionante", sempre portate a termine con esito positivo |
