This capable steel vessel began life built for the Canadian Coast Guard as a buoy tender and sounding vessel with ice breaker reinforcement. She spent her first 30 years operating year round in fresh water on the St. Lawrence Sea Way, which kept her much better preserved than other vessels working in salt water environments.
Originally accommodating a crew of 34, she was sold to a U.S. owner in 1993, at which time her conversion began with a number of cabins removed to create a spacious salon and master cabin. Enjoying a short cruising career from the St. Lawrence down to the Caribbean and then to Florida, she was purchased by her current owner in July of 1998, and underwent a 6-month, million dollar refit of her operating systems.
Upgrades included new fin stabilization system; bow thruster; new integral PC navigation system with Nobeltec moving map software and full CD-rom charts; new Isuzu 150kW genset; full overhaul of the ship's (2) original Allis Chalmers/Buda gensets; complete safety systems upgrade to obtain a full SOLAS safety certificate; new 1800-gpd watermaker with prefilter system; new fuel and lube oil centrifuge systems to insure clean fuel and oil from any source; new oil cooled air compressors; new water heaters; new raw water pump system; rebuilt sanitation systems; plus too much more to list here!
ON DECK are (3) substantial deck cranes to handle (3) shore boats including a 29' Blackfin Sportfisher, 25' diesel powered Nautica RIB shoreboat and 16' Yamaha jet boat. Newly completed helipad is fitted with full custom stainless railings (NOTE: Bell Jet Ranger not included). ACCOMMODATIONS include 9 guest cabins, a full-width on-deck master suite with 'his'n'her' heads, and substantial crew accommodations belowdecks. Comfortable interior offers generous 7'-8' headroom throughout. |
