KNM HORTEN FOR AUCTION
The vessel was built as a supply vessel for Sub Marines and MTB and has been used as reserve Frigate and School vessel until now!
For a period she has been the Norwegian Royal yacht when KNM Norge was rebuild after fire. She has also been the reserve vessel and following vessel for The Norwegian Royal family.
The Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation/Surplus Material Management have for sale "ex KNM Horten" The vessel is now released for commercial sale and can be sold to the civilian market.
The Norwegian Ministry of foreing Affairs has concluded the 16 of November 2009 that KNM Horten can be sold on the open market, without any constraints relating to the "Law of Export Control". In other words this vessel can be sold without any limitation with regards to export.
GENERAL DETAILS:
The Norwegian Defence Logistics Organization/Surplus Materiel Management Program, (NDLO/SMMP), has for sale KNM Horten. The vessel is now released pr. 16 November 2009 for commercial sale and can be sold to the civilian market. The vessel was built as a Navy Supply vessel for Sub Marines and MTB Motor Torpedo Boats, in 1978. Since 2003 she has been used as training ship and hotel ship in Spain / Norway for the new Frigates.
This vessel was built after DNV rules applicable for ice class C type vessels. She has been used as a School ship for the Norwegian Navy for many years, and has also been used 5 years for The Norwegian Royal Family when KS Norge was undergoing repairs after a fire. She has also been used as a reserve vessel and following boat for The Norwegian Royal Family. The vessel is in a beautiful condition and has been very well maintenanced. The vessel stand in the Navys drydock in Haakonsvern and the vessel's bottom plate thickness is measured, all bottom valves are overhaul and controlled. Stabilisator on the bb. side are under repair. New ground treatment (new anti fouling) and new zinc anodes will be fitted. The vessel will also be inspect by a representative of The Norwegian Veritas. (DNV) There is a possibility for the new owner to be trained before the official take over.
In late 2003 was it made significant up gradation and rebuilding of the vessel with the new stability calculations and conversions for the class notation DNV +1 A1 LC Patrol R2 E0 (NOR) for International trading. Further included Draeger decompression chamber for the evacuation of the submarine crew. This has been dismantled in 2003 and is stored in containers. It also included an item MOB boat around 7 meter from 1999s with 320 hp waterjet. New spare parts for around 1.5 millions Euro (1978 price ), are following the vessel!
The The Norwegian Defence Logistics Organization/Surplus Materiel Management Program, (NDLO/SMMP) has determined that the boat will be posted on the Internet auction with 7 days of the deadline when a confirmed offer is arrived. Bid process will start soon! The Norwegian Ministry of foreing Affairs has concluded the 16 of November 2009 that ex KNM Horten can be sold on the open market, without any constraints relating to the "Law of Export Control". Built 1980 for the Norwegian Coastal Administration.
Has ben used a service vessel for lighthouses on the Norwegian coast until 2007.
Cranes: 2004 Effer 80000-5SL Crane 80T/M 18 mtr / 3 t.
Starboard crane (aft), Towing hook, mob boat crane port side with winch.
The vessel has start/stop for main engines and generators from the bridge.
2 variable pitch propellars, electric/hydraulic driven bow thruster.
In 2004 a new Effer 80T/M Crane with remote controll was installed.
Cargo room with McGregor hatches with 75 TONNS capacity.
Large workshop starboard under the wheelhouse.
Utility room with showers and separate washing room.
7 cabins on lower deck. (a total of 10 cabins)
There was in 2006/2007 made a dobbler of plate in the cabin section.
These is not certificated of the Norwegian Maritime directorate!
The owner has order Wärtsilä to take engine status report on the vessel.
The vessel is laid up in Aalesund.

Beautiful 75 fot expediton vessel rebuildt in 1995 and totaly upgraded in 2008. Tonnage: 98 Loa: 22.5 meter.
The vessel was build to The Norwegian Coastal Administration and have in many years also been used of The Norwegian National Navy Guard!

Motor vessel "Grace" is a newly built steel 158 ft "gentleman's yacht" in the style of the successful passenger vessels of the early 1900's. She has all the modern electronics, technical systems and safety equipment required for safe operation, but her lines are resolutely classic.
