Nutmeg is a Seaotter 18 canoe yawl, built in 1996 by David Moss Boat Builders. Exhibited and acclaimed at the Greenwich Boat Show. Nutmeg (previously named Rebecca) has been featured in Classic Boat Magazine, Water Craft Magazine and The Boatman Magazine.

Construction

Iroko stem, sternpost, hog and keel with a lead ballast keel bolted with silicone bolts, through which the steel centre plate drops via a winch drum operated from the cockpit. A removable inspection top allows access to the centre plate. The hull is built from 19mm strip planked British Columbian pine, copper fastened, dowelled and epoxied together. The hull has then been overlaid with a layer of Khaya veneer. This is then sealed with 6 coats of SP301 & 302 high build finish. This produces a very beautiful and fair hull.
An Iroko Samson post is secured through to the strong lower floor.
Cabin and cockpit and cockpit seats are all 19mm Iroko.
Spars are built using British Columbian pine with a hollow mast.
Wishbone tiller is Ash with a carved otters head
